HK Trip Part 2

Ok, now that i am wide and awake, here is the second part to my HK Trip. Now where did i stop..yup after Ocean Park. That day after Ocean Park we went back to the hotel to rest our feet and wanted to bathe as well, but then we were going to go out again so no point. So this is what we did in the hotel room...

Cam whoring, typical huh?

Well, after that we basically went back to Fa Yuen Gai for shopping, and that was the night that i bought 4 pairs of shoes! haha, but one was for my sister k, so strictly speaking only 3 was mine.Ing Ing bought 4 pairs for herself, or was it 5? Anyways after that we went back tired but satisfied cause we bought so many things!

The next day was kinda our last full day we had. We decided to explore different places. Anyway the subway was very convenient and we bought the unlimited rides card so we just chose different stations and got off and explored. We decided on the different stations according to what i saw and heard on TV before haha, i know its stupid, but the shows are where i learnt lots of HK stuff from man.

So the first station that we went to was Lai Chi Kok, and this is like quite a ulu place i think, something like Katong in Singapore, you know where not much shopping can be done? But we didn't know and just wanted to explore.

We stumbled upon this place called the Trendy Plaza and its something like a factory outlet so we were like "oh my! We found a good shopping place!" But after going in, it was totally off. The clothes there were like for ah ma's or like perhaps the older generation. Only a few stores sold clothes that are not bad, but overall no, its not a good or rather nice shopping place. Besides, clothes there weren't that cheap as well. Gave up shopping there and we went looking for a HK cafe again. Simply love the food and drinks in these cafes.

This was a bigger cafe and the eel fried rice was so nice! Loved every bit of it, the other beef fried hor fun thing that we ordered was not too bad also, but a bit oily. Realised that they eat rather oily stuff in HK and as usual the milk tea was the best!

On some street in Lai Chi Kok still

Its not because of haze or anything that caused the pic to look so misty. Its cause i came out from a air conditioned place so condensation took place on my camera lens haha, the cute HK guy taking this pic for us was also confused on why the pic he took looked so misty.

Back onto the train to continue our journey.

After Lai Chi Kok we went to a few more stations such as Kowloon Tong, Causeway Bay, Yau Ma Dei, but i can't remember the exact sequence. I can only remember that Kowloon Tong has nothing. No shops of whatsoever, mainly schools, Uni's and hospital. Think We didnt really know how to walk that area as well so we didn't stay there for long. At Yau Ma Dei station when we were going to exit, I saw this street called Apliu Street, and there was once this HK show about Apliu street where Bobby Au Yeung was the main actor, don't know if you guys watched that show before so i was of course excited and wanted to go!

The Busy Apliu Street

And the place was really the same as shown in the show! They have different sections of the street selling different things, and in the show they mainly filmed the section selling second hand household stuff and electrical appliances. So cool! I always wanted to see the places I see on TV. Haha didn't even plan to come to this Apliu Street place but just stumbled upon it. There was also a wet market there. Show you more of the typical HK wet market.

The Butcher

The Fishmonger

The dried goods store

Haha aren't all these they typical market stores you see on TV? But i believe this belongs to the lower class area cause mainly old people go there to buy stuff and some of the things there are slightly cheaper as well. The seafood there looks fresh though, like almost all of their seafood are live. As you can see in the pic, they are all swimming in water. Too bad there is nowhere i can cook in the hotel or i would love to buy their prawns, so big and fresh.

At night, we decided to go the upper class area, that is Central. That is where most of the law firms are and the more expensive shopping place are. They have a shopping center there called Times Square, something like the Takashimaya in Singapore, but not for tourist like us that are looking for cheap bargains haha.

Outside Times Square

Ing and me outside Times Square, looks a bit like Japan eh?

We walked around and ate some roadside snacks and decided it was time to head for the Victoria Peak. We were supposed to take a tram up so we followed the roadsigns showing us to the tramstop. We finally came to this place where we saw people queuing up so we went to queue as well. This bus that we boarded had a open air top so ing and I were very excited and went all the way up. Looking at scenery, enjoying the breeze, everything was perfect until we realised we were on the wrong bus! That was the bus that was going down the peak and not up so we were driven to the bus terminal. We ask the bus conductor and he told us to just walk a bit up and there will be a bus to take us up. We followed his instructions and found the bus going up the peak. I tell you, the bus ride was seriously like a roller coaster ride man. The road up to the Peak was very windy, something like the road up to Genting and it was a two way lane as well. It was pretty freaky cause lthe road the bus was travelling on was like right next to a slope, and not forgetting it was a double decker bus, so if it were just to go out of track a bit, we would be tumbling downhill, am so glad i only get plane sick and not car sick. When we finally reached the peak, we realised that the bus we took up was not the tram! We were supposed to go into a building to take the tram that would take us perhaps only 5 or 10 mins to reach the peak? We risked our lives for nothing, but the view from above really made the bus ride worth it!

This is the electric tram that we were supposed to take up

Took the tram back down and headed for Lan Kwai Fong. This is the famous district in HK where all the clubs and pubs are at. I didn't go there to club though, jus to see how its like. Nothing really that special, think Singapore's night life is more happening haha.

I must say me and ing were quite lucky cause there was some celebration party going on and many HK stars were coming for the event. So as usual KPO me wanted to see them so we found a nice little table next to the club the celebration was going to be held and waited for the stars to arrive haha.

Bestie happy with her drink

Us and our table
They soon came, but i didnt manage to capture real good pics of them, however i did manage to see them clearly cause there were not much people there surprisingly, only reporters. I will post the poor quality pics up, sorry if you can't see much yea.

The girl who acted as Fiona in some police show, dunno her name haha

Some models, i also dunno who they are

Er, actually i only got 2 pics haha, the rest were videos and i have no idea how to upload them here, sorry! Anyway the more famous stars that went for the event were GiGi Leung, Kevin Cheng, Zeng Zidan and Huang Bai Ming. My poor bestie was sitting alone at the table when KPO me was trying to be the paparazzi haha. Nevermind, i will try to do better the next time.
This was a very long day for both of us and also our last night = )

Finally on our last day we went to run some errands. Bought stuff for my parents like lao po bing and some other food stuff. Covered the Flower market and Women's Street again to see for the last time wat else did we want to buy and i bought another bag haha, and bestie bought like 2 more or was it 3?She really bought lots of bag this time round.
As we were walking, we passed by this shoe shop and in the shop there was this very beautiful shetland sheepdog and it was so well behaved! It sat there, and when customers were coming in or going out it will move up or away like sorta to welcome them or send them off kinda thing. The owner is pretty smart to bring it to the shop, cause i am sure it would attract people, especially animal lovers!

Didnt have much time to shop cause we still had a flight to catch, and blur me got the flight time wrong. Luckily ing kept asking me to leave for the airport earlier just in case and it was only when we were at the airport that i realised i told her the wrong time so phew! Since we were taking a budget airline, we had to take a connecting bus that would bring us to some ulu parts of the runway to board the plane so while waiting for the bus, again, picture time!

At the lounge waiting for the connecting bus
Well so that was basically my HK Trip, Bye Bye HK!
