The Melbourne Show

Went to The Melbourne Show with Huey yesterday. Its something like a carnival with rides, game stores, food and candy floss.I guessed the only difference is that it has exhibitions as well? Stuff like animal farms, dog shows, information booths on police and some other related stuff. Didn't get to see everything haha, cause there were stuff that me and Huey found boring like agriculture exhibition and all so yea. Let me show you what we did for the day.

This was when we just arrived. Huey was queuing for the tickets. We actually had a photo together but i don't know what happened to my camera card, that pic was corrupted so just me alone haha. It's just that particular entrance that looks quiet, but actually there are so many people inside the arena.

We went to watch some car show thingy, i don't really know what significance it has but something to do with being in the history of Australia.

This was at the police exhibition.I know i can never become a police woman because i can't even reach the floor when i am on the bike! Haha but its cool, never been on a police bike before = ) Huey refused to go on it for a photo, cause those that were queuing for the pic were kids!

We then went to the open animal farm. One of my anticipations in this show was to go look at the animals.

Baba BLACK sheep

The Lama's

You can see that the animals are behind fences but its not meant to protect them from people but just to prevent them from running out. We can pat the animals, something like an open zoo. Hmm not much animals were there though, only sheeps, lama's, and ya, i guess more of sheeps haha. But thats not all to it, there was also this enclosed area with pets inside! Dogs, cats, rabbits you know household pets and they were all so cute. Think they are also hoping that people will adopt some of these pets through the Melbourne Show. Didn't get to take any pictures there though, but i did in the animal nursery. Its another section and inside were mainly baby animals. I even got to see a sheep giving birth to an ewe! It looks kinda gross but then i am glad i saw that.

See the bloody part on the Lamb's ass? I think that is the placenta, or maybe another baby is coming out. I have no idea too; when i was there it was like that already. The little lamb that the mommy kept licking is the new born = )

There is Huey with a fake Cow. If it was a real cow, there is no way that she would stand so close to it haha. She is scared of animals! Actually cause she finds them very dirty. Even making her just walk through the petting zoo where the animals were roaming freely she almost died. She was really dying to get out of that area man. And for me, i went to take a pic with a baby lamb.

The baby lamb is real although it looks fake

Saw something that was pretty interesting on the way. Horse carts without the horse, just the seats. I think it will a cool concept if there were coffee houses like such. Don't you think so? Like open air, sitting on such seats, sipping tea.

The management were afraid people might misuse the seats so....

After a relaxing tour around the exhibitions, we went for the rides! After just taking one ride, i felt so exhuasted. I think i was physically and mentally freaked out. During the whole ride i couldn't stop shouting, and my voice became hoarse after i came down from the ride. And Huey was just laughing at me throughout the ride, so evil!! The ride was something like viking; except it goes more then 90 degrees and the seats revolve 360 degrees when its swinging.

Us in the queue for the first ride

Us after the ride.

My goodness, after that ride i told huey i am not going to try another one. And she wanted me to try even a scarier one! This one......

Can you see Huey?

There was no way i was going to go on this ride man. It goes up 360 degrees and comes back down again. Gosh 41meters high, i will surely die if i went on that ride. Its too exciting for me, i think i am really becoming old, becoming more and more of a coward haha.

Anyways while she was playing that ride, i went around to look at the game store and went to this string game thingy. I went to play that because i know that i will get a prize for sure. And the person tending the store was really nice, he gave me a discount. Supposedly one pull of a string is $4 and 10 pull's $10; but he gave me a special offer of 2 pulls for $5. Not bad right, and in the end he even gave me a nice toy-Little piglet. He chose little piglet for me because he thought i was 16 and i thought he was 28 or so when he was only 20. Ironic huh? Caucassians just some how look older then Asians.

Anyway, i ended the day with these items.

The pink colour bag you see is a showbag. One of the highlights of the Melbourne Show. Everyone that leaves the show will at least buy one bag but most end up going back with more then one. Inside the bag has like sweets, toys, mags, miniature creams, perfumes etc. It depends on what bag you got. Anyways i got this bag cause of that monkey, i wanna give that to my nephew and the little piglet to my niece = )

P.s Don't know whats wrong with the blog today, keeps having error here and there so i couldn't upload some of my pics so irritating urgh!

The Phantom of the Opera

Only one word to describe it, sooo good! I went to watch Phantom of the Opera yesterday with huey. This is my second time watching an opera, the first was kinda boring, and i couldn't understand what the whole thing was about cause they were singing their lines throughout. That gave me a bad impression of opera but i am telling you, Phantom of the Opera is so different!Totally changed my impressions of operas man. At least there were like conversations other than singing.

The settings, the technology, the cast, everything was almost perfect. There was this scene where the Phantom and Christine(the female lead) were on a boat an he was rowing it, and yes on the stage. They used mist to cover up the floorboard and i don't know how they did it but it really looked like they were rowing a boat on the lake! It moved from the back of the stage to the front and then back haha, so cool man.

And i guess most would agree one of the best part of this opera would be the music. When the Phantom and Christine was doing the duet-i don't know if the title is "Phantom of the Opera" as well but i think it is, my hair just stood. I can't describe it in words but they were so good! The symphony, the singing, the setting and that song, woo! Clichely speaking, it just takes your breath away.

Anyway i never knew what happened to the Phantom and Christine before i watched this, and i thought the Phantom would end up becaming so obsessed with Christine and killed her or something, but it was the total opposite. He was such a sweet character and actually gave up his so called "happiness" to let Christine have hers. I pitied him at that moment but reality struck me. Well let me just ask a question. How many of us can stand being with a disfigured man no matter how sweet and kind he was? I guess the truth hurts but not much people can do that. So as much as i pitied the Phantom then, i knew that any normal girl would definitely not choose to be with him; not forgetting that there was also hot Raoul(Christine's fiance)waiting for her.

Anyway back to topic. I really reccommend you guys to go watch it if you haven't. I think it came to Singapore already-if i am not wrong, but nevermind, if they ever come again make sure you go catch it! 5 Stars for sure = )

I can't stop shopping

I don't know what has happened to me recently but i just can't stop shopping! i feel so bad, like i am wasting unnecessary money. I have been shopping almost everyday and buying truckloads of stuff. Things which i used to think are too expensive are now wat i am buying. Ok let me clarify, i am not talking about stuff like Prada, Gucci or branded stuff as such; i am not that rich.

However, my new favourite shopping place is SUPRE (http://www.supre.com.au/). I dun shop online but at the main shop. Its something like a Singapore Topshop i guess? They have a new shop and the stuff there are so pretty, esp the dresses. If you wanna compare it against Topshop, its cheaper so i just keep buying and buying, especially dresses. Last time when i saw a dress or skirt that is AUd 35.00 i would be thinking, hmmm after conversion and all its about $40 plus, too expensive not worth it. But now i will be like wow, not that ex, can buy, besides it looks so nice and i might not be able to find this is Singapore. An excuse i always give myself. Well, according to my own analysis, i guess its because of the new shop design. In the past before the new SUPRE shop was open, the only SUPRE shop they had was quite small, like maybe a Giodarno shop in Singapore so i thought that the clothes are a bit expensive for that shop. However, the new shop opened is much more spacious and the design of the new shop is more boutique like. The walls are all black, and the lighting dim as well. So overall it gives a more classy feel; maybe thats why i don't feel the pinch that much now.

Oh no!!! This is bad, and its not only SUPRE. Even at the supermarket(something like carrefour) i can buy stuff back, everywhere i go i see something i like i just buy. I think i really need to lock myself at home for at least a week or two or else this vicious cycle will never end. Anyways just go look at the SUPRE website, and see if the clothes are nice = )
