My first horseriding experience

I had my first horseriding experience yesterday and i must say it was so fun! The experience has left me with a very sore body now; every muscle i try to use just hurts, and i can't seem to close my legs. But i still must say, it was worth it! Anyways we met at about 9.15 in the morning to get the car, and began on our long journey to the Grampians Horseriding range.

This was the car we rented, nice and big!

Driver no 1 Peiyi

Driver no 2 Yee Lin

The two most useless people in the car cause we don't know how to read the map!

Vince tried to help, but he also don't know the way haha, so he was just sleeping most of the time.

So we had to rely on our 2 GPS systems-The drivers.

Beautiful scenery along the way

Driving through small towns

After 4.5 hours, we finally reached our destination. The journey was so long, and i was so excited when we reached the range. We met the instructor and signed our death indemnity forms, and began our dressing up.

I managed to catch a pic of a smiling horse!

After gearing up and taking some photos, it was time for us to meet our horses. The horses are designated to us according to our height and mass i think. Well the taller ones had taller horses and i had the smallest one as usual haha.

Vince and Hercules

Yee Lin and The Don

Myself and Trigger

Peiyi and Sebestian

When is it my turn to go up the horse?

Finally up on my horse

After getting to know our horses, and the basic instructions on how to handle them, we began our trip through the forest trail.

Our suave instructor and his horse. I love the colour of his horse = )

We were first taught how to ride the horse on walking speed, and next on galloping speed.
The horses are trained, and they are so smart. The will stop when the instructors horse stop, and not only that, they will stop at a specific distance. When the instructor's horse gallop, the rest of the horses will follow suit too! When the horses gallop, we had to do this up down up down action, and that was super strenuous on our thighs. I got quite freaked out when my horse started galloping cause it was quite fast, but after i got the hang of it, it was so so fun! I know i will never be able to get a chance to try this again in the near future, so even though my body is aching like crap, i have no regrets.

The beautiful view of Grampians along the way

The trail lasted for about 2 hours, and halfway through i think everyone started to feel tired already. Vince even felt like puking because of motion sickness. Poor guy. It then made me wonder how did those people in the olden days use horses as vehicles to travel for days man. Won't their butts, thighs, and back ache? Anyways after we were back we had to part with our darling horses.

Our dinner at Subway
After dinner, it was a looong drive back to Melbourne again. We got back at around 10 something. I will say this whole trip was perfect except for one thing. We got a freaking summon for travelling 15km above the speed limit. The speed limit was 60 and we were travelling at 75, and some police car hiding in the dark suddenly came out and fined us = ( And it cost us....

s$220 bucks!!!!

Well, Yee Lin's going to try and appeal and hopefully we don't have to pay this. Keep praying for us ok?Thanks!
