Let there be peace in China

Ok, i guess many of you(or most of you) should know what is happening in China right now eh? Tibet has been fighting for their so called human rights, and think that China is too domineering. Recently violence has also errupted in China because of the human rights issue and the Dalai Lama saga, and until now i still don't know what really is happening! But in one of the recent news articles i read, some countries are boycotting China during the olympics, and they are also edging Bush to boycott it as well. Politics politics politics... so today, i actually had a chance to witness a protest regarding this issue.

It states: Tibet WAS IS and ALWAYS WILL BE CHINA'S
There people are so serious about their protest and i am happily taking pictures like a silly tourist, but hey! not something that i can see everyday, and don't even mention when i am back in Singapore. The police were pretty cool as well, just walking around, ensuring there were no violence and making sure traffic was flowing smoothly. They were even patroling on horses!
Look at the vast crowd
Protesters holding placcards
Saw a rather cute one, sounds pretty childish though. Like "alright! Since you want to be like that we also want hmph!" Haha, but somehow i don't understand what this placcard really mean. What has killing innocent people got to do with human rights? It just doesn't seem to make sense to me.
And despite the randomness, me and vince decide to do some self portrait, not too bad huh?
Well, i didn't really take lots of picture for this but out of my "KPO-ness", i went to ask a person from China what are they actually protesting about. He told me that the media from european countries are telling lies when they say that China does not respect human rights, but in their opinion(that is the people protesting) China does have human rights and they are fighting for China. There were chants of "One family! One China!" and students signing on the protest banners that they had. There was even this guy that was dress in a green Mao Ze Dong look alike outfit and holding some olympic flag and he was like some statue from the wax musuem. People were like going up to him and taking photos with him and i think he was enjoying the attention as well. Now i regret not taking a photo with him. And silly Vince was saying "hey go take a pic with him, then you can tell people that you've been to China", but noope, i didn't go. He was busy enough!
Anyways, definitely an eye opener for me. I don't know why but i felt so excited when i came out of church and saw the big commotion. Guess if my future job requires me to go do such assignmnets, i would love my job dearly = )
