To come think of it, i have never really seen fireworks, even at our own National Day parade. The closest I have come to it would be in the car while trying to get to the Esplanade to see the fireworks haha. Sounds a bit confusing here but what i am trying to say is: me and friends wanted to drive to the Esplanade to see the fireworks, but we didn't make it on time cause of the jam, so we ended up seeing half-time of the fireworks when we were in the car. It was pretty fun actually, when the clock struck midnight and the fireworks were released, everyone was just sounding their car honks and wishing each other Happy New Year! inside their cars, something different for sure. Ok i digressed enough, back to Moomba.
A little shopping before going to Moomba
Along the Yarra River
There were pretty much things to see when we were walking there, for instance these dogs you see over here. They are actually guide dogs to help blind people find their way around and the association (i dunno which) were hoping to help raise funds to sponser these guide dogs. A very good way to attract people indeed, especially animal lovers like me!
A street artist that used spray paints and masking tape to create his pictures
The end product (sorry for the blurness)
Over here i believe they are rather respected and people do admire their works and effort; but it got me thinking if such artists were in Singapore, would people give them the same value as well?
Me and Yee Lin
Finally on Moomba grounds
And yes, that was the kiddy ride that i went on with Yee Lin. Even though its a kiddy ride, its pretty high up. When i was climbing up the slope beside the slide, i could feel like i was slipping down and if there was nothing for me to hold on to, i might jolly well have slide down there and then.
Ok! The fireworks, aka the highlight of Moomba Festival.
Me being very scared of the loud popping sound. Was contemplating between doing a "twist" and covering my ears thus explaining my weird fingers. I tell you, the fireworks really seemed so close to me that i was so afriad it would go up, and come back dropping down on me. Kinda stupid though cause i guess they must have made sure before hand that it won't drop on people viewing the fireworks. Its just me la, haha i got a phobia of loud noises- be it balloons bursting, someone shouting suddenly, or something heavy dropping on the floor, i never fail to get a shock.
Anyway that marks the end of Moomba for me. It was a "dirty" night cause dust was flying all over due to the mass amount of people stepping on sand. My black leggings became beige leggings, can you imagine?
