To my dearest Sin

This blog entry is dedicate to my dearest Sin that just left back to Penang. I really enjoyed spending time with you even though it was quite short. I hope you enjoyed yourself as much too, and sorry if i wasn't a very good host ok? Remember to come down when you can, and my room, bed, toilet, hairdryer, and pillow will always be ready for you haha. Hope this entry can bring back the wonderful memories you had.

Day 1

When i met Sin on Friday, it was already about 9 something, so we didn't really have much time to go out. We did go somewhere, but i choose to keep that confidential haha. Had a heart to heart talk (me, Sin, and Yoke Huey) that night, which felt good as it brought me back to the time when we stayed together before i flew back to Singapore.

Day 2

On this day, we had a full day to bring Sin out to play. Finally one day where i don't have work, or other commitments. Started off with going to Golden Mile to book Sin's bus ticket back to Penang, and headed off to Suntec for "Money No Enough 2". I would say that this was a funny show, some scenes were really hillarious, but the start was a bit slow. If you are quite a soft hearted person, i am sure you would shed some tears in the cinema. Anyway i am not doing a movie review here. Back to what we did.

We reached about 20 mins earlier, so we decided to go take some neo prints cause we never took a single one despite knowing each other for almost a year plus. Kind of wasted cause we only managed to choose 2 pictures due to our slow fingers, and also cause of difficulties in understanding the stupid machine. But i still love the pics = )

After our movie, we decided to bring Sin to Sakae Sushi. Along the way, we made her take some "landmarks" of Singapore.

Finally we reached the Sushi place. There's a branch in Penang as well, but Sushi sounded good to us and she did enjoy herself. Just look at that greedy face of hers!

After dinner, what do you think we did? Haha, for those of you that know us well, i think you should know the answer. More food. We did walk around a bit, but soon settled down at the cosy pacific coffee or company or what, i cannot remember the name haha.

The cheesecake was good, the majority of the cheesecake was those soft cheese, and only 1/4 of it was the sponge type of cake. I think you can roughly see what i mean from the photos. The Tiramisu was just alright, tasted more like chocolate cake. Both the drinks were good, i like milky stuff, and the drink had quite a strong milky taste so i found it nice....

The night ended with a game of sissors paper stone. Why? Because we couldn't finish the cakes. Darn bloated halfway through, and no one wanted to finish the cake so we decided to finish it off by getting the loser to eat (the odd one out). And of course as usual, the big loser was Yoke Huey! Haha, i think she finished almost half of the Tiramisu and cheesecake, thank goodness.

Day 3

Sin and Yoke Huey went to church with me on Sunday. I feel very honoured cause i think this is the first time that Yoke Huey ever stepped into a church. Thanks darling, even though you were not very willing haha. After service, we headed down to Vivocity to show Sin one of the biggest shopping centers in Singapore. Man, that place is really huge, i myself don't go there too often, so am still quite unfamiliar to that place. We went to Central for lunch and the food there is so nice! And i finally found where to have Hongkong Roadside Stall food haha.


I think i look very 'macho' here haha, don't know why, maybe just fat haha.

You know what. I cant understand why they don't allow us to take pictures of the food stall, but they also didn't allow us to take picture of the food we bought. Ok fair enough if you say they were afraid we copied their idea, but even when we were in the pic, i dun think it was allowed too. I shouldn't say they, it was only that one woman tending the food stall saying that we were not allowed to take pictures. So weird, but its ok, we still managed to do it in secret! Haha

I could only spend half the day with Sin cause i had to go meet bestie for our combined birthday celebration, so that ends Day 3.

Day 4

This was the last day Sin was in Singapore. The first half of the day, Sin and Yoke Huey came to the office to accompany me as my boss was away in Thailand. All the photos are with her, and i still havent got it from here. So on this day, i only got one photo of us.

This was taken at East Coast Park. Wanted to bring her there earlier for cycling, but i was caught up with some work at the office, so by the time we reached there, it was almost dark. And our dear Miss Susan Chia was complaining that she was hungry so no cycling for us. Anyway, more food pics are with Sin, so i guess i won't be able to post them up.

My Special Day... Aug 7

Went to the NUSS Guildhouse at Suntec this year with my family to celebrate my actualy 22nd birthday. Its been a while since i celebrated my birthday with my family due to me being in Melbourne. It definitely feels good to be back home and celebrating this special day together with my loved ones. Here are some of the pictures i took before our food came.

Its been a long while since i blogged, so sorry about that. Now i am down with a flu so i don't have to go to work tomorrow haha, thus explaining why i can stay up late to blog. Anyways, i guess i have been busy with work? Just followed Lara for an interview today, and i felt so terrible throughout the whole interview because i had to try not to sneeze or cough, and my throat felt bad; but i am feeling better now already = )

On Saturday, i had my early birthday celebration, and this year i had the celebration at my dear bestie's place. And of course there was a theme-occupational wear. Everyone was really a sport, and came dressed for the occasion making the party really fun; thanks guys! So what occupations did we have on that day?

The security guard came to lock the room at ten, so we decided to shift the party to the poolside. And this is when the adults left, leaving only us to party! The rest had some beer and red wine, and as usual alcoholic MiMi wanted more, but too bad not everyone could drink haha, like me. We also presented the best dressed award there, and our winner is... none other than the contractor! What to do, she suit that occupation too well so majority of the votes went to her. Susie, consider this occupation k? Haha. And of course, the presents = )

Lappie finally home

I finally can get my hands on my dearly missed laptop again. It has been in the repairs for almost 3 weeks now, and it was really kind of hard to get used too without having it by my side. But i still want to give thanks that at least it didn't die on me when i was in Melbourne, or i would really have been miserable.

Anyway, been rather busy at work lately. Due to the departure of our Graphic Designer-without even informing, we have to outsource our articles to another Graphic Designer, so we have to rush out our articles and get it done quick. Suddenly so many things to do, but now i just hope my interviewee will agree to my interview request. Time is ticking so i do not have much time left, please pray!

Oh, and through the week, i suddenly realised that God has been very good to me. You guys know that i applied this internship through the internet, and i never even went for the interview, but i got accepted. I always thought this was just a lousy job with no one applying that's why i got it. However, i was proven wrong. Just two days ago, a handful of people came for interviews, and my boss took no one. Can you believe it? People that came down did not get accepted, but I whom my boss did not even interview actually accepted me? And i remembered on the first day i went for work, the staff there were shocked that i didn't go through an interview as well. Through all this that happened, i strongly believe that God answered my prayer and provided this internship for me, at the perfect timing too; so that i can get my report back to Australia in time.

so stupid

Updates on my appeal. In the first place, there was no need for an appeal at all. I sent an email asking my lecturer for the reason of my failure for my report, and he sent me back all the marks for my various assignments. To my horror, i saw a 0/15 for my presentation!! I seriously don't know if its his handwriting or what, but he gave me a 10 on my marksheet. And i actually passed my final 40% proposal writing report, and i am proud to say i did better than expected too! Haha thanks to those that helped me proof read and all = )

Ok, anyways back to topic. So i e-mailed him and told him to check my marks for my presentation properly because i seriously didn't fail, but he replied me that in his records it was really a 0. So he requested me to send my marksheet to him for verification, but my marksheet is all the way in Melbourne. I tried to mention some stuff hoping it will bring some memory back to him, which i think might have work, cause he told me to send him my presentation slides and tools used during the presentation as proof. I did so, and he replied me telling me that he would accept those materials as partial proof, and take my word for it that i got a 10. What the heck, makes it seem like i was trying to cheat for this 10 marks. I never fail to get goosebumps at the thought of "failing" when in actual fact i did not. Can you imagine if i didn't e mail him at all to ask him about my grade and reason for failing? I might have just applied for a near pass and got the wrong grade. Thank God that he actually unveil the truth to me. I remember when i saw my fail mark, i was praying to God that please let my near pass get through, or just let my lecturer have a change of heart and give me 4 more marks to pass. But what's new, God gave me more than i asked for. This goes to show that sometimes he says no to your request just to give you something better. Amen to that, and thanks to everyone for your concern!

I got lots of pics to uplaod, but i still haven't got my lappie back from the repair, so its just words for now, sorry! Oh and i saw Jacelyn Tay today! Haha went as the "photographer" together with my collegue that interviewed her, and gosh she is pretty. Definitely not like those bimbo actress you see around; she studied econs at NUS, and is super nice and friendly. Managed to take a pic with her as well. Will try to post it up soon k? Results

I got back my results and i really failed that stupid English module. I seriously do not know what went wrong, and why i still failed my last report. My tutor still hasn't sent out my assng to me, and it has been 10 days! When i called, he said he was still waiting for another about 4 people to pass him the envelopes before he will send all at one shot. I was like what the....I also appealed to him to ask him to review my paper and see if he would be kind enough to give my my 4 marks needed to pass. Furthermore, i don't think my report is that bad and deserves a fail.

The funny thing is, i got a High Distinction for my Editing for Print module, but i failed my Advanced Professional Writing, and both are focusing on Englishy stuff. What an irony. But in the worse case, i can still apply to the ARTS office for a Near Pass grade that would allow me graduate successfully still. Its just that 'flaw' in my transcript that makes me feel so irritated. This is not even a examinable subject, and you don't even really need to have knowledge in a particular study to do the assignments. They are basically stuff like writing a proposal, or instruction manual kind of thing. That's why i find it such a waste to fail this subject.

However, i must thank God for the peace that i have been failing. From waiting for the result, to actually seeing the result, i didn't exactly feel terrible. Somehow i feel that everything will be alright, and from sermons that i have been to, it seems that God is trying to prepare me for the worst.

For now please pray that God may soften the heart of my English tutor for that 4 more marks, or may my appeal for the Near Pass grade be quick and successful. Oh and another reason that i don't feel lousy is because my parents didn't blame me or scold me. They took the news well, and just went on to say "go appeal" haha. So thank God for the response, and the peace, Amen!

Darn laptop

I have many things to update since i returned to Singapore, but my stupid laptop died on me the day i returned thus explaining the lack of updates. To keep it short, i went to the zoo the next day after i landed on Singapore grounds, started work the day after, met up with the poly darlings on Friday, and my church babe Suye today. Got so much to tell you guys about work and stuff, also pictures of course, but without the laptop everything is just so inconvenient because this stupid desktop of mine is so slow..................... I will try to use someone elses laptop to update so be patient for now = )
